Halloween Party

В кутку драбина, на якій спить павук. На небі зірки. На стіні висить календар, на якому написано: 31-st of October.

Павук потягується і каже: Oh! It is the 31-st of October. It’s our day today! Where is the main witch?

Rap.    I am a spider. I am a spider.

            My colour is black. Step out of my way,

            And that’s a web I never say “Die!”

            Behind my back. But say “OK!”

The main witch sleeps. She wakes up and says: What’s the matter? Who dares to wake me up? Is it you, my little Spider?

Spider. Yes, it’s me. Look at the calendar! Today is the 31-st of October! It is our great holiday – Halloween!

The main witch. Oh! Our time has come at last.

Павук та головна відьма сходять зі сцени.

Вибігають ведучі.

Teller 1. Good evening, all presents! You are mostly welcome! Today we are having

a special holiday, a Halloween Party!

Teller 2. Доброго вечора всім присутнім! Ласкаво запрошуємо вас на наше свято – «Хеллоуін»!

Teller1. If  you don’t want to meet evil spirits in your homes all year round , you should celebrate this holiday. But you know this holiday is impossible without  witches and ghosts, goblins and vampires.

Teller 2. Якщо ви не хочете зустрічати злих духів у своєму домі протягом усього року, ви повинні святкувати цей день. Але ви знаєте, це свято неможливе без відьом, вампірів, привидів та іншої нечистої сили. Тож зустрічайте наших гостей!

Звучить музика. Вилітає привид.

Hello everyone! Oh! I am first.

Після цього появляються інша нечиста сила і всі танцюють …

The main witch. I am the main witch and they are my friends. We are at today’s party because the 31-st of October is a great holiday in Europe – “Halloween!” Let me introduce my friends from Scotland. They will tell you about history of this holiday.

The 2-nd witch. Halloween was first celebrated many centuries ago in Ireland and Scotland by Celtic priests called Druids.

The third witch. Хелоуін вперше святкували в Ірландії та Шотландії стародавні племена, які називалися Друїди багато століть тому.

The fourth witch. The Druids thought that Halloween was the night when the witches, ghosts and other evil spirits came out. As they were afraid of them they were wearing evil spirits’ costumes and painted their faces.

The second witch. Друїди вірили, що Хелоуін – це ніч, коли відьми, привиди та інша нечиста сила виходять і можуть вселитися в живе тіло. Так як вони боялися цього, тому й наряджались у незвичайні костюми і замальовували обличчя, щоб відлякати їх.

The black cat. I am a Black cat with an arched back. Once I was a human being but I was punished for my evil deeds. Thus I have became a black cat. Many people are afraid of me. Some thought cats are the spirits of the dead. Others believe that witches use to turn to black cats.

 The third witch. I think everybody wants to know a story about this pumpkin. It is called “Jack-o’-lantern. Listen, please to this story.

The fourth witch. Згідно з ірландською народною казкою , Джек був п’яницею і шахраєм. Коли він помер , його не пустили ні до раю, ні до пекла. Диявол дав йому вуглинку, щоб освітлювати шлях у темряві. Джек помістив вуглинку у виїмку, яку зробив у ріпі, щоби підтримувати вогонь якомога довше. Пізніше американці замість ріпи почали використовувати гарбузи. І тепер саме гарбуз символізує ліхтарик Джека.

Teller 1 Ladies and gentlemen! A delegation of evil spirits from Ukraine has come to visit our party! You are welcome, friends!

Звучить пісня «Я-Баба-Яга»

They (Baba Yaha, kostianaya noha, Chakhlyk Nevmyrushcshy and Leshy) appear singing a song.

                Розтягни ти, міх, гармошка

                Й весело ти нам заграй,

                Заспівай нам бабка Йошка

                Гарну пісню заспівай!

  

                 Ваня Пукін – екстрасенс

                 Він подався через ліс

                 Нечисть його слухала

                 І на ланч ізхрумкала!

                  Люди борються зі злом

                  Переможуть – й ми помрем

                  Ох, сама не вірю я

                  В оці суєверія!

     Leshy.  Слухай, карга, куди це ми попали?

     Baba-Yaha. А куди ти цілився?

     Chakhlyk  Тут всі по-англійськи лепечуть.

     Leshy. Do you speak English?

     Baba-Yaha. Аякже! Ще й як дую! Ми що, тєлік не дивимся. Ми хоч і в лісі живемо, за подіями слідкуємо регулярно. Гм…Счас весь світ по-англійськи лепече.

      Chakhlyk. Very well…, I love you,,,,, Casting…, Bowling…, Presentation…, Beatles…

       Baba Yaha. Ну нічого собі! Я й не знала, що ти такий «продвинутий»… А ось, наприклад, що таке «Сіт даун!» по- українськи, знаєш?

       Chakhlyk. Та хто ж цього не знає? Of, course!!! Yes, yes, yes! По нашому це значить «Сідай, придурок!», зрозуміла?

     Вибігають із сцени(під звуки пісні «Баба Яга»

Teller 1. The Romans who ruled the British Isles also held a celebration at the beginning of winter. They brought apples and nuts for the Godless of Garden.

Входить Богиня Саду, Богиня  Яблук.

Pomona. Good evening! It’s so nice to have you all here today. I’ m Pomona, the Apple Queen. Every year people bring me apples and nuts. This way they thank me for a good harvest. I think everybody knows an English proverb: “An apple a day…(children continue) …keeps a doctor away”.

    

Pomona comes and gives apples and nuts to everyone.

Teller 2. Now let’s have some fun. We’ll play a traditional Halloween game. It’s called “Bobbing for apples”. There is a bottle of water here. There are some apples in it. You have to catch an apple with your teeth. It will not be very easy.

Teller 1. And now we suggest playing another game. You have to catch an apple with a fork. But your eyes will be covered with a scarf. The winner will get a prize.

Teller 2. And now a new contest. We need 5 participants. Your task is to take a broom when music finishes.

Teller 1. Long ago people went to wise old women, fortune-tellers to learn about the future. They believed that witches had the power to tell their future and use magic words to protect people.

Teller 2. Hey, boys and girls, do you want to know about your future? Come to that wonderful Fortune Tree. Take any candy from it! Inside it you will read your  magic message. It will predict your future.

Teller 1. Today most people don’t believe in ghosts and witches, but it’s fun to wear funny costumes and enjoy your time. So, let’s dance, and sing, and play, just have fun together!
